The more or less official nickname for Madrilenos is gatos, which is Spanish for cat. I´ve been trying to find a reason for this, but I´ve come up empty. I mean, aside from the up all night, sleeping through the day, glowing eyes, and tendency to stalk birds thing, I can´t think of a single reason that anyone would call them gatos.
Dorsa and I have spent the morning and much of the afternoon hitting the museums, the Prado and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, and now we´re taking a break in a fabulous internet cafe in fabulous downtown Madrid.
It´s been a whirlwind tour of all that is fabulous in Madrid, let me tell you. Non-stop partying, non-stop shopping, non-stop excitement. If only you could all be here to appreciate it.
Actually, I´ve broken out in a rash, all I´ve managed to buy is some ill-fitting and overpriced loungewear, and neither of us has managed to get a whole lot of sleep at night, due to the ´gatos´ insistence on celebrating the Festival of San Isidro two blocks away from our hotel. The whole fricking night. Every night we´ve been here so far.
So, you could say that things could be better, if not for the fact that actually I´m having a fabulous time. posted by All at 5:05:00 p.m.

I really pick my moments to blog. I'm sitting at the airport, waiting to leave to Madrid, no fun stories as of yet, and I'm suddenly feeling the urge to make my mark on the internet.
Sadly for you, that's going to have to be it. Lucky for me, I'm going to Madrid with Dorsa. Hee hee!
Dorsa's been here two days and thus far I've had the best party ever, bought platform shoes, gone tanning, bought a tube top in a colour other than black, wore my fabulous hat, and finally found out what a morning coat is.
